Fighting Drugs with Drugs is a Hoax by Dr Gil Eriksen

The Federal Government has often been dragged into wars and the war against drugs is still another example. The theory was that out of control drug use and abuse could be countered with legislation and pharmaceutical drugs and that the drugs themselves were the problem that drove man and families to madness and disaster. This is all a hoax, say I, and the idea that the drugs is the problem or could save or heal the problem is just insane. People use drugs, and it is crazy to think that drugs use or abuse people. Drugs are inert substances and only activate chemical compositions, and when ingested and can and do change or effect chemistry compounds and mood, but do not determine ideas and politics, for that is what people do and it is all thinking and actions by us all.

I came into the substance abuse field in the middle of the last century and studied long and hard about all the theories of addition and diseases, to go onto to be certified and licensed. In my grandmother’s and even mother’s days the devil of the bottle was countered by the church that fought off the devil and restored morality. Drugs, bad drugs, like heroin were anti-Christ also and people suffered as dope fiends. Prescription drugs as modern medicine was starting to gain power and control over the minds, hearts and budgets of the country and became the warrior saviors of the bedeviled people. Early on in the past century, Alcoholics Anonymous had tried to combat and run away from organized religion, organized mental health movements and tried to be a spiritual grassroots movement, and was later on over taken by the government thought treatment modalities like patient centers and criminal incarcerations. Nancy Reagan and other White House Wives tried to help out but really just worsened and perpetuated the whole ongoing problem. I was at first perplexed by all of these players and later called out foul by claiming all to be a Hoax.

Today we are over run not by drugs and devils, but by stupid thinking and our fostering stupid ideas about what thinking is, and the misperception of the role of chemicals once introduced into our systems. What is also complicating and confusing is that the art or science of medicine was designed to be an emergency intervention to stop death and not a lifestyle that leads to death. We really don’t have an epidemic of any new or unusual kind or way, say I. We don’t have any new or unknown diseases corrupting and affecting our kids and our societies. We have an age old problem with perceptions and perceptions about perceptions that blame and point fingers to the moon and not to us and our institutions of mind and matter.

I have been honking this alarm and ringing this emergency bell for decades and still Whitney trusted herself all the way to the grave. I have been pointing out that everyone thinks that everyone else is a fool and not they, and saying that is the problem. I say wake up and leave poor little alcohol be alcohol and not the devil and you the saint. It is thought the world is criminal and suffering from organized crime and that we have to fight these wars or die. No, we make the problems, we bring about death and we are the devils, or so think I.

Reality as an Offense? A Claim for Safety and Out with Protectionism by Dr Gil Eriksen

Tradition has it that reality is an offense and that people need to be protected from reality. Sound strange? Well think about it, for thousands of years people had no idea at all about the workings of the real world and how nature did and did not operate. So people lived in fear of the elements and were also in a total quandary as to the ravages of their bodies by disease, malnutrition and neglect.

Not much has really changed in our thinking.

Yes, we have become more informed and more insightful into the mechanics of the natural world, but what we still hold dearly to and believe to be true are all the mythologies and superstitions about how we can or cannot protect ourselves from the elements. What is most alarming in these ways of thinking is that while we are so busy protecting ourselves, we neglect to know how to appraise and evaluate our decisions and actions for basic safety and actually put ourselves in harm’s way as a result of all the old myths and nonfactual judgments.

Fundamentally our judgment calls about the real world and the real workings of our minds is way back in bygone days and we totally misjudge what is the makings of nature and what we concoct to be the makings or influences of nature. And to boot, we protect the old thinking and think that protecting is the way to go, and never do we stop and ask ourselves about the facts of the matter. On top of the old storytelling, or weaved right in with the story line of old thinking, is bad science and research to support old thinking, medical establishments that protect but don’t prevent illness, politics that hold to old ideas at the expense of coming of age and moving forward as a society, and a worldwide culture that holds to values that are about being paranoid while lacking simple objectivity.

At the Institute for Reality Studies, we are of the thinking of fact and we create and formulate our thinking around clear observations of what is safe, and what maintains safety, and call out what is dangerous and life taking. We have created Life Management Programs with real safety in mind and contradict the normal thinking of protectionism that is expensive and death oriented. We think that protecting, fighting, blaming, and just not being open and alert is what really gets people into trouble and often needlessly dead. Our ideas of relationships are practical and not romantic or heroic. We see our social institutions needing to serve us and not to protect us and hide us a way for the truth of the real world. We test and evaluate in order to judge and not hold to hope to reinforce myth and poor to awful thinking of the ideas of protectionism.

Our offices and classrooms are set up for informing, educating, and bringing students into the modern age, and not for debate and the protection of protectionism. Our faculty and advisors are aware of current affairs, and we have attitudes that promote safety, health, cooperation, and community high functioning as the priorities. We are different in that we have stepped out of protectionism and moved on to identifying and using sound ideas and workable efforts in Life Management that produce gainful results. We promote and foster the Study of Reality and the abandonment of ignorance, fears, and dependence on protection ideas and the practices of protectionism.

There is an old saying, “What could be new on earth under the moon and the stars?” Like nothing is really new, and that everything has been around forever one way or another in this common way of thinking. It is saying that you just have a new twist on an old story, or a new age way of living about an age-old adage. So with that in mind, change is seen as really just a resurrection, just a new fashion on an old fashion, and that history repeats itself. So new really means old inside out with that outlook; and that constraint on just everything appears to be permanently in place.

At the Institute for Reality Studies we take a different position with the position that new isn’t just and only a repeat, or a comparison to what you already know, or an understanding of what came before, or that try as you may, you are stuck no matter what, or “I dare you to impress me and teach me anything at all.” Maybe, just maybe, when the masses are fixed in ignorance of what makes the world go round, their arrogance and being a smarty-pants is what precludes and excludes any new approach, all new topics, some significant discoveries, learning as a way of thinking and living and just the curiosity for the unknown.

We have known at the Institute, for a long time, that students are most often arriving with an “I know everything” and “I am the teacher” point of view. They often take the consulting, the training, and the lessons to be some sort of novelty and as a lesser option to what they already know. It is like they are being patient or patronizing with what we have to offer as a new and significant point of view on mental operations and Life Management Courses. Some or a lot of what we think and teach may have an old ring to it, like “Lying will come back to haunt you,” or “Your secrets will take you down.” But it is our attitudes and judgment calls that make the difference in that we don’t condone rationalizing misgivings or misappropriations and thinking that rationalizing makes a difference when it is clearly not the facts of the matter.

What is significant in our observations about mental functioning and individual difference is that we see people as decisive and not as evolutionary or celestial. We see problem solving as comprehensible and feasible and realistic, and not as mysterious or fatalistic. There is a whole lot to being normal and thinking normally that we take contradiction with, and have spent decades upon decades in testing and measuring the differences of other options.

When the public approaches and attempts to read or hear just what it is we have to say, they stay complacently in their old paradigms and lenses at making their judgments and defend almost like it is an Olympics to the Death, and the death won’t be theirs! That disables them and keeps them from opening their minds and learning beyond the limits of imposed normalcy. No wonder they think that there is nothing new and everything is just another version of the old. For them that is true, and is their truth, and so they remain sedentary and living the consequences of their own choices and their own limitations.

We at the Institute are a seat of learning in a new field of study, with a new vision, a new technology, a new approach, and a new solution to the old time yoke around the neck. We have the willingness and talent to teach, guide, and instruct. We think that old time thinking about thinking, and old time politics about social posture is not modern at all, and only reinforces the ideas that history and time is fixed into the future and there is no way out. We have generated ourselves out of the confines of normalcy and have lived and experienced the freedoms of being aware of the reality of our own minds and our own choices.

How Realists Think by Dr Gil Eriksen

Following are some examples of how we as Realists have organized and mentally trained ourselves to think, versus traditional thinking whereby individuals see themselves as all-knowing by accident, while hoping for the success they dream of, and is also due them, according to them.

• Realists see our minds as our abilities to think, plan, and manage; versus traditional thinkers that see their minds as broadcast and control centers over which they have no control, while longing for that insider control.
• Realists see that we are thinkers and are responsible for outcomes; versus others who see themselves as heartfelt thinkers that are on missions of glory and have to adapt to God’s will all the time, if not the lottery.
• Realists are critical and evaluative to our every thought, which we know that we have created, and look to see real connections and possibilities for creating successful outcomes; versus normal thinkers that go through a million thoughts a minute and push on to find the one answer that God wants for them, and have no interest, patience, or money for other ideas that will get in their way of believing in their coming success.
• Realists no longer complain and stay busy and attentive to our own Life Management; versus inheritors that look for sympathy all the time and hope that just maybe you are the fixer and the savior with the messages for instant success.
• Realists know that life and living is limited and needs to be respected and managed cautiously and prudently; versus others that think that respect is about their due, or their coming title, or getting in their good graces.
• Realists know that our own thinking was born out of arrogant thoughts of grandeur and know that choosing to be a braggart is a quick trip to nowhere but the cemetery; versus magical all-knowing people that think that arrogance is a good thing, with the more the better, which will speed up their trip on the glory road to success.
• Realists know both attitudes, the one of delusion and the one of the tester of the incidences, and are constantly eager to learn and do well; versus those that disassociate from their own thoughts and never learn from what works and what fails to work.

At the Institute for Reality Studies, we as Realists offer conversion centers, translation lessons, alternative mental operations, and assistance in self-recognition and learning how to identify oneself. We provide acquaintance with language, formats, systems of operation, time tables and methods to measure and know learning and progress. Delusion: Thinking and Living Theoretically by Dr Gil Eriksen

When you mentally ascribe to thinking and living theoretically, you are delusional. You think and see reality as a theory also, so all that is known by you to be fact is not fact indeed, but only still part of the data of still another grand level of theory. You constantly are analyzing by positing the question of why, which is a hypothetical seeking of still another hypothesis of what is seen as real or the answer of what is real as woven into a theory.

And the more that you theorize, the more intelligent that you conclude that you are, for you have lots of whys, lots of answers, lots of understandings, and lots of explanations that keep you by and large satisfied. But you remain endlessly stupid of the facts of you and the facts of the real world, but an expert in a story version of you. You think that delusion, or crazy, or lying is something or someone different from you and certainly has no bearing on your state of mind and your convictions.

You fail to see that your mind is made of your thoughts and think that it, your mind, is somehow separate or different from what and how you come to know what you know to be the truth. You think that delusions are for the hopeless and helpless, of which you are sure that you are not, and you endlessly go about proving you to be so by constantly seeming to to reference your own intelligence. Lack of clear understanding, or the surprise of your own mishaps are not seen as errors in judgment, whatever that means or is supposed to mean, and in no way a breach or glitch of intelligence, but merely just being careless about details and being caught off guard. So there is no security leak and you remain perfectly secure in your knowing, and ritually grant pardons.

You don’t see yourself ascribed even to your own thinking for it has been so integrated into your development from so early on that it is assumed and taken for granted as being what your intellect is made of and how you just know how to take care of yourself in your very own and different and special way of taking care of you. “Why am I the way I am? I just am, and love me, and I love people that love me, and that is why I am a great lover type that needs acceptance and approval and has so much to offer.”

A theory, one supposes, is someone else’s opinion, and carries little to no weight, for it is only your opinion that counts, and your opinions are not based on theories but upon utter fact and truth of knowing. Rules, morals, ethics, guidelines are all infringements that are to be learned only to know how the masses, not you, are controlled, and how you may try to limit others, but not you. Those troublesome restrictions are to teach right and wrong, but not to get caught up in, or taken too seriously, as they are really only for the stupid people, and not for you who is enlightened and wanting to be free. Doctrine is seen as being like a theory in that you need it for keeping order in civilized places, but doctrine too can get in your way of freedom and the pursuit of your own happiness. Deviants, perverts, criminals, and the profoundly screwed up lack the intelligence to know right from wrong and fall in the category of those that should be controlled and not allowed to wander free with the enlightened ones (you).

So as you can, or maybe cannot, see, the normal person is of their own theories about them, others, and how the world turns from their point of view, without testing nor examining. They are somewhat content within their own intelligence and believe that they are guided by their always seeming to know about themselves. It is always others that worry them, the others that are inferior and markedly not right or off their rocker, like bad blood or bad genes, or even somehow bad luck. To the average person, no matter the culture, having faith is not a theory, to them it is a fact or a higher order. The normal person never ever doubts or questions them; they always confront and interrogate others, gravity, their own bodies and what the hell, even the lottery. So the whole of the person by way of their own mental commitments have dedicated themselves to the story of them at the neglect and loss of them as a sane and sound person. They are familiar with and at home with their theoretical, philosophical and projecting methods and forms of thinking and prophesy. They live truly in a hovercraft that transcends and never touches what is real.
